Lake Shikotsu
The lakeside road is only 10km, but it worth to visit.
When you come to Hokkaido by airplane, you most likely arrive at New-Chitose airport.
If you borrow a motorcycle from a rental shop nearby the airport, Lake Shikotsu is a closest touring place from there.
Lake Shikotsu is the most clear and beautiful lake in Japan.
When it is sunny, the water glows clear blue by the sunlight and you can see the bottom of the river.

Let's visit Lake Shikotsu Park and walk around. Parking fee is ¥200 for motorcycle.
There are nature center, restaurants, pedal boat dock and hot spring inns.
You can enjoy remarkable view of lake and mountains while riding on the road besides the lake.
Himemasu trout ("Chippu" in other name)​
Grilled, fried, raw... There are a lot of way of recipe for Himemasu trout.
Himemasu trout is local speciality fish of Lake Shikotsu. They are same kind of sockeye salmon.
They grow in cold clear water, so it doesn't smell fishy and tastes very delicious.
You can eat fresh Himemasu trout dish at the some restaurants in the lake.​
Poropinai Park
The shop sells noodle, Himemasu trout dish, fried snack and ice cream.
I recommend you the fried Himemasu trout.
At the end of lakeside road, there is a little beach and restaurant.
Some people are relaxing on the beach and other people are fishing.
You can eat light snack or fresh trout dish there.
Eniwa Valley
While riding, you can enjoy clear stream and green trees.
Hakusen waterfall. People liken its grace shape to an opened white Japanese fan.
​After going through the lakeside road, a twisty mountain road waits you.
This road is along the Eniwa Valley and towards Eniwa town.
There are some waterfalls. Hakusen, Rarumanai and Sandan waterfall.
Hakusen waterfall is most dynamic and worth to look.
Especially, the autumn leaves in the valley is very beautiful.
