Lavender garden
When you visit Furano in summer, it’s best time to see lavender garden.
Lavender is originally native to Europe, but the climate of Hokkaido is cool and suitable to grow lavender.

The farmers in Furano have grown lavender from 80 years ago, now its high-quality lavender oil and beautiful lavender field are famous and pride of the town.
​You can watch lavender garden at some place, the major spot is Farm Tomita, Hinode Park, Flower land Kami-Furano and Hokusei-yama lavender garden.
The best season is from mid-July to early August. It’s like a purple carpet!
Mt. Tokachi Skyline
Let’s go to Mt. Tokachi Skyline, one of the most beautiful mountain road in Hokkaido.
At first, the road run up straight toward the mountain. Colorful flowers along the road delight your eyes.
After going up a steep mountain road and coming out of the woods, you will finally witness the highlight of Mt. Tokachi Skyline.
During riding at this route, you always see Mt. Tokachi and enjoy a panoramic view of Furano town.
Mt. Tokachi is beautiful, but it sometimes reveals its frightening face.
The road crosses some desolate places, they are made by a mudslide caused by the eruption of Mt. Tokachi.

Blue pond
Blue pond is one of the most photogenic place in Hokkaido.
Its mystical blue and white trees fascinate a lot of visitors.
This pond was made as a dam to prevent the disaster from eruption 35 years ago.
The hot spring water and the water of Biei river are mixed with at the pond and react chemically, then we can see the pond blue.
Furano Melon

Furano is a famous meron-producing area and their meron are sometimes send as a gift because of its nice taste.
